Exmoor Tree Services

1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions apply to all tree surgery and related services provided by Exmoor Tree Services ("we", "our", "us") to the client ("you", "your"). By accepting a quotation or booking our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. Services Provided
We provide professional tree surgery services including, but not limited to:

Tree felling and sectional dismantling

Crown reductions, lifting and thinning

Deadwood removal
-
Stump grinding
-
Hedge and boundary management
-
Emergency tree work
A detailed description of the agreed works and fees will be outlined in your written or verbal quotation.
All work will be carried out to industry standards and in accordance with current health and safety regulations.
3. Quotations

All quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.

Quotes are based on a visual inspection of the site.

Additional work required due to hidden defects, decay, obstructions, or changes in scope may result in a revised cost.

Acceptance of a quotation confirms agreement to these Terms and Conditions.
4. Booking and Cancellations

All bookings must be confirmed via phone or email.

A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations.

Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may be subject to a charge to cover lost time and resources.

We reserve the right to reschedule works due to severe weather, unsafe conditions, equipment failure, or other unforeseen circumstances.
5. Access and Site Safety

You agree to provide clear and safe access to the work area at the agreed time.

Vehicles, garden furniture, ornaments and other obstacles should be removed prior to our arrival where possible.

We reserve the right to refuse or halt work where safety is compromised, including unsafe structures, aggressive animals, or hazardous materials.

You must inform us of any known Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs), conservation area restrictions, underground services, or site-specific risks before work begins.
Failure to disclose relevant information may affect liability.
6. Tree Preservation Orders and Permissions
It is your responsibility to ensure that necessary permissions are obtained where required. We can assist with guidance if requested, but responsibility remains with the property owner unless agreed otherwise in writing.
7. Payments

Payment is due within 7 days of invoice unless agreed otherwise in writing.

Late payments may incur interest at 3 percent above the Bank of England base rate.

We accept bank transfer and cash. Cheques by prior agreement only.

For larger projects, staged payments may be required.
Ownership of any materials or timber remains with Exmoor Tree Services until full payment is received.
8. Waste and Timber
Unless otherwise agreed:

Arisings, logs and woodchip will be removed from site.

If requested, logs or woodchip can be left neatly stacked at no additional charge.
Additional disposal fees may apply for contaminated waste or unforeseen quantities.
9. Liability and Insurance

We hold valid public liability insurance.

We are not liable for damage arising from pre-existing defects, hidden decay, subsurface services, or factors beyond our control.

Tree work can involve natural movement of timber and debris. While every precaution is taken, minor disturbance to lawns or surrounding ground may occur.
You are responsible for notifying us of underground utilities, drainage systems, cables, or other concealed hazards prior to work.
10. Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our service, please notify us within 48 hours of completion. We aim to resolve any concerns promptly and fairly.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
